Q: How were you inspired to start your business?

Initially out of college and starting my first career job in Accounting with a prominent university, I realized I had more money than month and was feeling defeated financially. I worked hard and didn’t have anything tangible to show of the fruits of my labor. As a younger female, I wanted to enjoy life and build a expanding career.

Q: How much do you love what you do?

I have a passion for changing the understanding of how we view money and the opportunity to learn the principles to build generational wealth. I spend a lot of effort to educate my potential client before we do business so that the importance of the gameplan for them is evident. I am patient and know that the learning curve is short for some and for others it may take a minute. More so, the process is emotional as most people’s first relationship with money may not have been positive (i.e. raised in poverty, limited access to information or education, etc.)

Q: If you could go back to a point in your life when you were facing a challenge, what inspirational advice would you give yourself?

My first charge card I had was a challenge as I wasn’t aware of the interest rate and balancing ability to pay off each month with my income each month. I always reiterate to ask for help from someone that you see is where you would like to be and don’t let pride intervene toward your growth. Be humble and face truths about your relationship with money and how it impacts your decisions.
I remember as a child I was going on a trip to Disney World with my Girl Scout trip. I’d asked my Dad for money the night before I left and he noted either he didn’t have or the proverbial ‘Money doesn’t grow on trees…” I of course didn’t ask again and left for the weekend with minimal funds and our last dinner before coming home, I didn’t have any extra money had to have a friend cover my meal. It became the foundation subsequently to always have my OWN and not ask anyone for money!

Q: Tell us how your business inspires your clients!

I love the empowered feeling after a discovery meeting and the implementing a gameplan that helps them manifest there goals and dreams. Seeing a light at the end of the tunnel empowers me as well to ensure others received the Power!

Q: Knowing you aren’t alone in something and that there is light at the end of the tunnel means a lot when you are feeling low. What is a typical problem someone you work with might be facing and how do you guide them back into the light?

I recently helped a retiree from 30 years in government and helping her transition from what was an emotional life change to knowing that her financial foundation was secure for her and her family. I love to see them make decisions WITH me to a positive road! She referred me to a number of her coworkers who saw her easy transition and asked me to assist them as well.

Q: As people we are always evolving and learning things on our life journey. Where do you find inspiration?

I am working with the next generation of my clients – their kids and grandkids! Its amazing passing the torch of information to change generations! I realize we are planting trees that we may never sit under!

Q: Businesses are always evolving too… what are you inspired to do next?

Provide more estate planning especially for Women! Statistically we live longer and survive our spouses and may not have a foundation for a smooth transition – taxes, income protection, estate taxes etc. In addition, more workshops centered around Women and Finances for them to have an environment to get information, feel empowered and safe to ask questions and resources to implement their financial goals effectively and efficiently!
