Q: How were you inspired to start your business?
A: After going through some traumatic experiences myself, as a teenager, then into adulthood, I struggled with my mental health and how I viewed myself. I got to a point where I thought “enough is enough” and I studied the law of attraction, and trained in mindset and mindfulness. Through practicing these things, and positive affirmations, I felt my life start to turn around. Following this, my son who has ADHD and Autism, was really struggling with low self-esteem and self-worth. He didn’t love himself and was so miserable he didn’t see a point to life anymore. I was able to use everything I had learnt, and we started speaking positive affirmations every day together. Soon the difference in him was amazing, and even the school noticed the change in him. Together, we realized we could use this to create something to help other children going through the same.
Q: How much do you love what you do?
A: I absolutely love it. I am so passionate about what I do, and seeing lives changed. I want to inspire people to love themselves for who they are, and be happy in their own skin.
Q: If you could go back to a point in your life when you were facing a challenge, what inspirational advice would you give yourself?
A: When I was younger, I did everything to try and be what I thought everyone else wanted me to be, but now I realize that I am who I am. Being me is the only way to be truly happy, and it’s important that we accept others as they are too.
Q: Tell us how your business inspires your customers!
A: We produce worksheets, journals and affirmation cards for children, to help them work through their emotions, and understand what they are feeling and why. The affirmation cards help children to learn to speak positivity over their lives. We have had so much feedback from happy kids and parents who have used our products, and seen such a change. It’s great!
Q: Knowing you aren’t alone in something and that there is light at the end of the tunnel means a lot when you are feeling low. What is a typical problem someone you work with might be facing and how do you guide them back into the light?
A: There is much more pressure on children now than there ever has been with image, and trying to be the best all the time, and not every child learns the same, or can cope with the same stuff as the next child. So I hope that by using our cards and our worksheets, the children will understand more about themselves, about interacting with others, and about being who they truly are, not what they think they should be.
Q: As people we are always evolving and learning things on our life journey. Where do you find inspiration?
A: I take inspiration daily from other people that inspire me. I listen to audible books, podcasts, YouTube videos and just work on myself daily, surrounding myself with positivity.
Q: Businesses are always evolving too… what are you inspired to do next?
A: I am planning to try and write articles or columns for magazines about mindset for children. I also want to get some kind of programme into as many schools as I can, starting in my local area, and hopefully long-term, across the country
