Hi Joyce, thank you so much for doing this interview… I’m looking forward to hearing your story.
Q: How were you inspired to start your business?
A: I was diagnosed with a chronic medical condition which means that I am unable to work regular hours.
Q: How much do you love what you do?
A: I love writing so BusiWriter is the perfect job. However I want to inspire women, baby boomers and GenX, to know that you don’t need to stop dreaming just because you are older. Hence The Reignited Woman.
Q: If you could go back to a point in your life when you were facing a challenge, what inspirational advice would you give yourself?
A: You don’t need to do this on your own, there are plenty of women out there who would love to help you.
Q: Tell us how your business inspires your customers!
A: I think it is my story that is inspirational. Just before I was diagnosed with a chronic medical condition, my husband moved to Dubai to work. I stayed at home because my daughter had 2 years left at school. In 2014 My condition worsened and I couldn’t work, my father died, my daughter went off to university and my husband underwent surgery on his shoulder. I couldn’t sink any further. Since then I have set up 2, soon to be three, businesses, co-written a no 1 international best selling book, and set up a face to face networking group for women aged 40+. Quite a change from the woman I was only 5 years ago. I should add that I am now 59!
Q: Knowing you aren’t alone in something and that there is light at the end of the tunnel means a lot when you are feeling low. What is a typical problem someone you work with might be facing and how do you guide them back into the light?
A: BusiWriter works with a lot of start ups writing business plans. Some of these plans are for visas which not only help someone move to a new country but also have a means to keep both themselves and their families when they get there.
My clients in The Reignited Woman – I teach these women, most of whom are married with grown up kids, that it is ok for them to do something for themselves again after spending many years of putting everyone else first.
Q: As people we are always evolving and learning things on our life journey. Where do you find inspiration?
A: From the women that I interact with vis different communities
Q: Businesses are always evolving too… what are you inspired to do next?.
A: Developing The Reignited Woman is my next big goal, a community for women that have dedicated their lives to family, to caring for someone and suddenly have a big hole in their lives that they need to fill.
